Fourth Generation

The Business Life For Over 80 Years

Vinod Gupta Is A Great American Businessperson

Since the dawn of time – in a figurative sense, at least – people around the globe have emigrated to the United States in hopes of living better lives than what was available in their previous countries of residence. Though most Indian emigrants left their home country throughout the past few decades, rather than in the 1800s like people did from Ireland, Poland, and other European countries did, the United States is currently home to some three million people who were born in India.

Vinod Gupta is one of those three million Indian immigrants, though he left India in favor of the untold fortunes that the all-powerful economy of the United States of America could possibly bring to Mr. Gupta, given he was fortunate enough to run into a hurdle or two of good luck and tried harder than the majority of his peers did.

Vinod Gupta is the Chairman of Everest Group LLC in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Infogroup, a technology company and started the Vinod Gupta Charitable Foundation.

Gupta’s career is best known to his followers as one in which he turned a lower-level position in marketing with a manufacturer of mobile homes in the American Midwest to a business that eventually sold for nearly $500 million some 40-odd years later with a bank loan of just $100.

If that’s not a great example of the American dream, then there can’t be any other examples that detail the American dream more closely. Learn more about Vinod Gupta on Forbes’ 2018 “World’s Billionaires” list includes Vinod and Anil Rai Gupta.

Once he landed in the United States, Mr. Vinod Gupta went to the University of Nebraska to earn a degree in Engineering, though he’d never go on to use the degree in any field of work in the United States. After earning that bachelor’s degree, Mr. Vinod Gupta found himself in a Master’s of Business Administration Program, following the completion of which he started working for Commodore Corporation, the mobile home manufacturer mentioned above. See This Page for more information.

After his few years as a marketing analyst there, the rest is history.
